MAKE YOUR MOVE

er en koreografisk konkurrence for unge talenter (13-21 år) i Region Midtjylland. Vi byder morgendagens stjerner velkommen til dette arrangement, som er den første af sin art i Danmark, og som favner alle stilarter inden for dans. MAKE YOUR MOVE finder sted den 12 september 2010, kl. 16, på Gellerupscenen i Århus. Vi ønsker at opmuntre et bredt kulturelt felt af ansøgere, for derved at understrege at bevægelse, dans og koreografi er for flertallet – ikke for de få. til Connections – International Dance Festival Århus den 4.-9. april 2011

Connections er en international festival for professionelle unge koreografer. Festivalen handler om at styrke og udvikle eksisterende forbindelser mellem danske og udenlandske koreografer, og om at etablere nye forbindelser mellem dansen og publikum.
Som koreograf med base i Danmark, kan du - sammen med en udenlandsk koreograf, hvis vej du engang har krydset - søge om deltagelse på Connections. I løbet af festivalen danner I par: I viser hver et færdigt værk á 20-30 minutters varighed og i forbindelse med jeres dobbeltprogram afholder I en ”mød-kunstnerne”- event, der giver publikum indsigt i jeres indbyrdes forbindelse og i jeres arbejde med dansen.

ScreenMoves

præsenterer i fra midt i august til midt i september Lene Boels videoinstallation Life Force i Dansehallernes foyer.

I efteråret kommer bl.a. også ScreenMovesLab, et forum for dansevideo-/filmskabere, der kunne tænke sig at vise deres rå footage, works-in-progress og film, der er helt friske fra klippebordet til dansefilmsskabere og andre interesserede samt screen dance workshops både for begyndere og mere øvede dansefilm entusiaster.

SPOT ON - Ny koreografisk platform, visninger over to dage i uge 49

SPOT ON er en koreografisk event over 2 dage. Værker i rå og usleben udgave, præsentation af de nyeste koreografiske ideer. Feedback gives fra publikum, der blogger med kunstnerne og fra tilknyttede coaches/rådgivere. Via SPOT ON kan man få et hurtigt indblik i, hvad der kunstnerisk rører sig i dansen netop i dag – lige nu og her – på Laboratoriescenen.
SPOT ON processen forløber over 14 dage hvor de deltagende koreografer har mulighed for at udvikle på deres materiale i samarbejde med mentorer og de andre involverede dansekunstnere. Codaspace is free rehearsal space and morning classes in the month of July 2010 in Dansens Hus in Copenhagen.
Dansens Hus offers free rehearsal space for professional choreographers and companies. We also offer Joanne Leighton a.o. as mentor.

Dansens Dage i fremtiden? Visionsseminar

Dansens Dage inviterer til visionsseminar om Dansens Dages fremtid.
Hvordan skal Dansens Dage se ud fra 2012 og fremover? Er det godt, at fejringen foregår over flere dage? Ville det være en god idé med et tema for hvert år? Hvad har fungeret godt og mindre godt på Dansens Dage de seneste år?
Kom og del din vision for og dine tanker om Dansens Dage. På seminaret vil der endvidere være oplæg om kommunikation og visuel branding i forhold til Dansens Dage samt inspiration fra andre festivaler.
Seminaret foregår i Dansehallerne i København fredag 17. september kl. 13-18. Med mulighed for at se Mute Comp. Physical Theatre’s danseforestilling ‘Knock On Unpainted Wood’ kl. 20 i Dansehallerne.

Registration is now open for the SIXTH keðja encounter. It takes place in Reykjavík, Iceland October 8th – 11th 2010 under the heading “Reach out! Content or form?”

About keðjaReykjavík
The main emphasis at keðja Reykjavík,will be placed on the artistic programme together with various other events aimed to show you Icelandic nature, energy and city life, from a different perspective.

In a few well defined seminar sessions we aim to explore, question and celebrate the art of dance and its relationship to other art forms, its place in a “world of interdisciplinarity” and its role in community.
We will question where dance is heading, its meaning and purpose.
We wil remind ourselves of the initial aims of Keðja – HAVE WE “strengthened the position of contemporary dance in our region”?

The encounter is for people working not only in dance but also in the performing arts as such as well as others with an interest in discussing issues on the merging of the art forms

We hope to encourage a flow between the artistic events and seminar sessions, and that you will use the mingling, lunchtime and party sessions to continue the discussion and bring up truths, fears, longings and brilliant ideas. More info on www.kedja.net

• keðja is for anyone interested in taking a closer look at how contemporary dance is organized and works in the Nordic-Baltic countries
• keðja is for people who want to question and discuss the current situation
• keðja is for people who want to co-operate across boarders, creating better circumstances for the art of contemporary dance, and thereby stimulating and developing the art of dance.

keðja is the Icelandic word for chain and is highly associated with the old Nordic chain dances that are still being danced.
The name keðja symbolizes that the aim of the project is to connect, attach, encircle and move outwards as well as to strengthen the already existing chains/networks.

Over a period of 3 years, 6 encounters with different dance-related headlines will take place in 6 countries.

Artistic events, workshops, seminars and other kinds of exchange will take place, addressing the future of contemporary dance and its role in society by raising the awareness of dance, revealing potentials and facilitating development in all sectors of the art of dance. - Making a significant long-term impact on the artistic environment!

PhD Studentship Opportunity

Moving Forward: Phoenix Dance Theatre, Re-constructing the Past, Re-informing the Present

This AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Award offers an exciting opportunity to pursue a fully-funded PhD with one of the UK’s major contemporary dance companies in collaboration with dance academics from the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds.

About the project:
The project will investigate creative and curatorial methods through which Phoenix Dance Theatre can engage with its rich cultural and artistic heritage to inform its current and future developments. The successful candidate will examine the company’s existing archive, mapping out the narrative of Phoenix’s history within its particular geographical and socio-political context. This interrogation of the past will lead to the development of possibilities for the future, employing and interpreting the archive material to inform the company’s ongoing artistic practice. Research methods will include studio based exploration, analysis and reflection.

The emerging research material will be disseminated through the development of a dynamic web resource, incorporating visual, audio and text-based input from the researcher, company members and other site users / visitors.

This project will be co-supervised by Dr Sita Popat and Dr Victoria Hunter from the University of Leeds and by Sharon Watson, Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Amount of the Award:
The award holder’s tuition fees will be paid at the standard AHRC UK rates. The award holder’s annual maintenance grant will paid at the standard AHRC UK rate of £13,290. This will be supplemented by a further payment of £500 per annum from the AHRC. The standard length of the award is three years of full time study. The award will commence on 1st October 2010.

Eligibility:
Applications are invited from outstanding students holding a good undergraduate degree, and with an appropriate Masters, or similar postgraduate qualification that demonstrates equivalent preparedness for research in a related field.

All applicants must meet the AHRC’s academic criteria and residency requirements, and there are different eligibility criteria for UK and EU residents. Please see here

Statens Legatbolig i Paris

Der indkaldes hermed til ansøgninger for ophold i Statens legatbolig i Paris for 2011.

Statens legatbolig i Paris administreres af en stiftelse med navn efter boligens givere, Ludvig Preetzmann-Aggerholm og Hustru. Stiftelsens formål er at give danske kunstnere og forskere mulighed for et ophold i Paris.

Ansøgere, hvis projekt har en konkret tilknytning til Paris, vil blive givet prioritet.

Boligen m/opholdsstue, sovealkove, badeværelse og køkken i 3, Rue de la Perle, 75003 Paris, er fuldt møbleret og udstyret til 4 personer. Huslejen er 1050 Euro pr. måned inkl. varme, lys og telefonabonnement (retten til prisjustering forbeholdes).

For at tilgodese flest mulige ansøgere tildeles ophold som regel kun for én måned.
